Media ReleaseSort by Date Media Alert20 August 2005In celebration of National Science Week 2005, the world of geoscience will be open to the general public at Geoscience Australia's annual Open Day this Sunday 21 August between 10am and 4pm. A selection of talks have been chosen to illustrate the geoscience behind topical issues such as the Boxing Day tsunami, mineral exploration in Australia, Australia's final frontier: the ocean, futuristic maps, and the search for Australia's next big new oil province. Who: Media are invited to attend any aspect of the Open Day including the talks which will start at 11:30am and continue every hour until 3:30pm. Talks will include interview and photo opportunities.
