1. Workshop on new seismic and MT datasets in the Capricorn region, Western Australia

There will be a full day workshop on Wednesday 23 November 2011 in Perth to present the results of new seismic reflection and magnetotelluric data collected for the 2010 Capricorn (L195) seismic survey, which extended across the Capricorn region  from the southern Pilbara Craton to the northwest Yilgarn Craton, Western Australia. The survey and workshop are a joint venture involving Geoscience Australia, the Geological Survey of Western Australia, AuScope, ANSIR and the University of Adelaide.

2. 6th International SHRIMP Workshop

The Geoscience Australia Geochronology Laboratory is hosting the 6th Biennial Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe (SHRIMP) Workshop in Queensland from 1-4 August 2012 to discuss, debate and celebrate all matters SHRIMP. The workshop will immediately precede the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane starting on 5 August 2012.

3. Update on geophysical data releases

The current status of Geoscience Australia's geophysical survey data acquisition is now available in a comprehensive table.

Minerals Alert Geophysical Surveys Table - survey boundary polygons in MapInfo TAB format.
