Release of new index of airborne geophysical surveys
6 June 2007
The latest Index of Airborne Geophysical Surveys is now available as a free download.
The index of government airborne surveys has been revised and updated to include specifications of around 1,000 surveys conducted between 1951 and May 2007. It is the 9th edition of the publication and embraces more than 27 million line kilometres of mainly total magnetic intensity, gamma-ray spectrometric and land elevation data.
The index allows for the rapid identification of airborne surveys and the acquisition of relevant metadata through a table listing survey names in alphabetical order with corresponding Geoscience Australia project numbers, and another listing 1:250,000 map sheet names in alphabetical order with Geoscience Australia project numbers of surveys located on each map sheet.
