Geoscience by Night
12 August 2009
All members of the public are invited to attend Geoscience by Night, a series of night talks held at the Geoscience Australia building on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August at 6pm.
The night talks are one of a number of activities we will be hosting for the community as part of National Science Week 2009, held from Saturday 15 - Sunday 23 August 2009.
Both nights will highlight some of Geoscience Australia's key research activities. Tuesday night will explore how geoscience knowledge is being applied to assist emergency management, and Wednesday night will focus on securing Australia's future energy, including geothermal energy, groundwater and carbon capture and storage.
Geoscience Australia is also visiting a number of ACT schools to highlight some of the dynamic career paths available in the Earth sciences and give students from the region a chance to talk to scientists who are working on some of Australia's most important challenges.
