Pre-competitive data acquired by Geoscience Australia on possible energy resources in the Northern Territory will feature as part of the Northern Territory Geological Survey's annual Geoscience Exploration Seminar (AGES) in Alice Springs from 27 - 28 March.

Geoscience Australia scientist, Anthony Schofield, will give a presentation on an assessment of the potential for uranium and geothermal energy resources in southern areas of the Northern Territory. The assessment aims to provide improved delineation of regions to enhance uranium and geothermal prospectivity opportunities.

The presentation will feature details on the likely occurrence of geothermal energy in the survey area following interpretations which indicate elevated temperatures five kilometres below the surface.

Mr Schofield will provide details also on the possibility of uranium resources in previously unexplored, or greenfields areas.
