Offshore Petroleum Acreage Release Data Room
Geoscience Australia offers free, secure access to the latest seismic and geological data supporting the current Australian Offshore Petroleum Acreage Release, and is available to all Australian and international petroleum exploration companies.
Access to the data is provided in the Offshore Petroleum Acreage Release Data Room (the Data Room) where seismic data for each current acreage release area is loaded onto computer work stations for instant access and assessment.
Facilities within the Data Room include one Internet interconnected PC, one Kingdom® XP PC, one GeoFrame™ running on a Linux PC, and a colour printer. Geoscientists are available to assist with the software if required.
To ensure the security of your research and complete confidentiality, all PCs are refreshed back to a known state at the completion of each delegation's visit.
What data can you take away with you?
Once you have found the information you require, pre-packaged, work-station-ready seismic data can be ordered and mailed to you. The 2011 Acreage Release Workstation data is available in GeoFrame™, Kingdom®, and Landmark™ formats from the Geoscience Australia Repository for the cost of transfer, A$1500.
Previous Years Data Packages can be ordered through the repository at a reduced price.
Included on the hard drive are the well logs, well completion reports and destructive analysis reports for all areas. Limited interpretation and other seismic metadata is also on the drive.
