Important information on Non-commercial use

The Australian Centre for Remote Sensing (ACRES) provides data from the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) to customers in the Oceania region for non-commercial use only. Before placing orders, potential users need to understand the definition of non-commercial use and register their proposed use with ACRES for approval. If approved, customers may use the ACRES Digital Catalogue to search for scenes and place orders online.

If you are unsure whether your use is non-commercial, please contact ACRES for clarification.

Customers who require ALOS data for commercial purposes should contact a RESTEC commercial agent .

Products covering areas outside of the Oceania Zone are available to Oceania users for non-commercial purposes. Please contact ACRES Customer Services for details.

Future acquisitions

The future acquisition schedule shows the planned acquisitions by both JAXA and ACRES over the Oceania Zone. Most data is acquired by JAXA and sent to ACRES weekly, with a lower proportion downlinked directly by ACRES.

Customers may make specific future acquisition requests but there is limited scope to change the pre-planned schedule, especially at short notice. Initially ACRES will not charge customers for future acquisition requests. However, ACRES reserves the right to implement charges if demand becomes high.
