ACRES ASTER price listSources of ASTER dataACRES can draw upon the following sources of ASTER data to satisfy customer needs. 1. ERSDAC archiveThe Earth Remote Sensing Data Analysis Centre (ERSDAC) in Japan holds a comprehensive archive of all ASTER acquisitions. It holds processed products of over 700,000 Level 1A scenes and over 180,000 Level 1B scenes. ACRES can search this archive and organise the purchase of these products on behalf of clients. In addition, ACRES can organise for ERSDAC to process ASTER data into higher level products (see "Processing Levels" below). 2. ACRES archiveThere are two types of ASTER data in the ACRES archive:
All ASTER scenes in the ACRES archive can be searched using the ACRES Digital Catalogue. Please note, there are different pricing and licensing conditions between ACRES USGS ASTER data and ACRES ERSDAC ASTER data. General Programming Request (GPR)ACRES can organize with ERSDAC to acquire imagery over your area of interest. There are important conditions (see below) associated with this request to which customers must fully understand and agree in writing. There is no charge to place the request, but if the acquisition is successful, customers are obliged to purchase the various processing levels for that scene, as described above. For example, a successful day-time future acquisition will result in a customer receiving three products (levels 1A, 1B and ortho) for that scene, for a total cost of $580.
Processing levels and product detailsCustomers who wish to derive their own Digital Elevation Model (DEM) will generally purchase Level 1A data which is path oriented and has no radiometric or geometric corrections applied. Customers wanting these corrections applied would normally purchase Level 1B data which is also path oriented. Ortho-corrected products from ERSDAC are "relative" ortho products. So, even though the ASTER derived DEM has been used for ortho-correction, the control points are based on the satellite model and post-pass ephemeris information. Hence, there may still be a block shift in absolute locational accuracy of around 50 metres (and up to about 200 metres worst case) in the final product.
Data formatASTER data from ACRES is archived and supplied in HDF format, which can be read by a number of image processing systems. Some useful links about HDF format include:
How to process ASTER dataSee "A simple guide to ASTER Mineral Index Processing" [pdf_1482kb] for an outline on how to process ASTER data in ER Mapper to generate Mineral Index Maps. LicensingBoth ACRES ERSDAC ASTER Data and ACRES USGS ASTER Data are sold under license, but with differing conditions. Special copyright conditions apply to the sale of satellite data. In order to purchase satellite data products, users must agree to the relevant licence conditions covering its use. See ACRES End-User ASTER Licence Agreement. Payment
Delivery detailsACRES products are dispatched by airfreight. The price of data includes freight charges within Australia. To facilitate delivery of your products, please provide both your postal and street address. ACRES provides online delivery for ASTER products at $10 less than the Recommended Retail Price for the product.
