Petroleum DataGeoscience Australia houses one of the world's largest collections of petroleum data in our Data Repository. Much of this data is "Open file" and is available to the public, the petroleum industry and research organisations. The collection comprises of seismic, processed and field data, well logs and data, digital navigation and other geophysical data, reports submitted under legislation, destructive analysis reports, specimens and samples related to petroleum research as well as reports from gravity, magnetic and seismic surveys. The vast majority is data lodged with the Commonwealth Government under the Petroleum Search Subsidy Act 1957 or the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967. The Petroleum Information Management System - PIMS, an Oracle database of items in the Data Repository, can be used for specific queries. Search PIMS on-line. |
