Global Navigation Satellite System Networks
Overview of major networks operating in Australia (government, commercial and academic).
Australian Regional GNSS Network (ARGN)
The Australian Regional Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network’s primary role is to monitor crustal motion in Australia and its territories. Providing a geodetic framework for the spatial infrastructure of Australia. Data obtained from the ARGN is freely available for public use.
South Pacific Regional GNSS Network (SPRGN)
The South Pacific Regional GNSS Network is part of an AusAid initiative, working in collaboration with the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) and Geoscience Australia. Its aim is to monitor vertical movement of the Earth’s crust in conjunction with tidal measurements as part of the SEAFRAME network located in the South Pacific.
AuScope
A network being established to help uncover the structure and evolution of the Australian continent.
