Geoscience Australia cannot guarantee cloud free imagery.

The best estimate of actual cloud cover on a scene can be gained by viewing the sub-sampled images in Earth Observation Catalogue. It is important to note that the numeric value of '0' represents 0 to 9% cloud, '1' represents 10 to 19% etc. Please note, therefore, that a value of '0' does not necessarily equate to 'cloud free'.

For Landsat images, the cloud cover is automatically assessed and determined by Geoscience Australia's Automatic Cloud Cover Assessment (ACCA) software. If any quadrant of a scene contains missing data, the cloud cover of the quadrant will be set as '–1'. The average cloud cover value of a scene is calculated based on quadrants whose cloud cover values are not '–1'.
