The winners of the Geologi09 short film competition were announced on 12 October 2009 to kick off Australian celebrations for Earth Science Week 2009.
Over 400 students participated in the national competition with entries from Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Victoria. Students had to submit a film based on the theme 'Earth science in everyday life', designed to give students an idea into how we use Earth science in our daily lives. We received films about volcanoes, geological time, rock types and mineral resources.
