Open Day

Geoscience Australia's annual Open Day is an excellent opportunity to visit our building and learn about what we do in a fun and engaging way. All members of the community are invited to attend the Open Day, which will be held during Earth Science Week 2010.

Open Day hosts a range of activities for all ages, including:

Science and career displays

Explore science through various activities and talks about what kinds of careers are available in the field of Geoscience.

Bring your own rocks for identification

Experts will identify rock samples from around the country.

Pan for gold, sieve for sapphires

Learn how to pan for gold and sieve for sapphires. You might strike it lucky!
