This project acquires, processes and interprets pre-competitive geoscience information associated with energy resources in selected provinces and basins across Australia to identify prospectivity and promote new data and results to industry, in partnership with State and Northern Territory Geological Surveys.

The aim of this project is an increased investment in exploration for onshore energy resources, including geothermal, uranium, thorium and hydrocarbons, in selected provinces and basins across Australia, to improve discovery rates for onshore energy resources.

Each year the project will focus in a different area:

  • Mount Isa-Georgetown-Charters Towers, Queensland in 2008-09
  • Gawler-Curnamona, South Australia in 2009-10
  • Amadeus-Arunta-Georgina, Northern Territory in 2010-11
  • Northern Western Australia in 2011-12.
