Satellite Imagery - New South Wales flood, 2000

ACRES acquired SPOT 2 satellite images showing the impact of floodwaters from the Queensland/New South Wales border town of Goondiwindi south to the town of Narrabri. The images depict the region in December 1997 and again in 2000 after the inundation by floodwaters.


Satellite Imagery - South West Queensland flood, 2000

The satellite images show the dramatic effect on the land of recent heavy rain, causing floodwaters to inundate south west Queensland. This area is known as the Channel Country and has an extensive braided river system which includes the Georgina and the Diamantina Rivers and Cooper Creek.


Bureau of Meteorology - Flood Warning Centre

The Bureau of Meteorology flood warning service is provided in cooperation with other government agencies such as State and Territory emergency management agencies, water authorities and local Councils. It is coordinated through Flood Warning Consultative Committees and established cooperative working arrangements in each State and Territory.


Australian Disaster Information Network

The Australian Disaster Information Network (AusDIN) portal is a multi-agency initiative to establish a national knowledge and information network of people and systems to serve the emergency management community in the Australian region. The AusDIN portal aims to facilitate access to data and other information as well as knowledge for all phases of emergency management.
