Meet Our 2011 Graduates
Six graduates were selected into the 2011 Graduate Program. The successful graduates were:
"I was attracted to the Geoscience Australia Graduate Program because it offered me a chance to explore a range of disciplines without specialising in a specific area".
"Pursuing a passion for natural history, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in earth science and zoology at the University of Tasmania".
"My interest in environmental science was first fostered as a child spent examining rock pools on the South Coast of New South Wales. I later completed a Bachelor of Global and Ocean Science at the Australian National University (ANU)".
"I initially started a degree in Ecochemistry but soon realised that a career in geology offers opportunities to resolve curiosities about the world we live in, influence the future of resource extraction and utilisation, as well as travel to interesting and remote places".
"My passion for geology was first ignited when I lived across the bay from the active volcano Tavurvur when I lived in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea as a child".
"I completed my Honours in 2010 studying the physics of the Earth within the Research School of Earth Science at the ANU. My Honours project investigated the melting processes that occur along ice shelves".
