The N H (Doc) Fisher Geoscience Library is the premier geoscience library in Australia. It was established in 1946 and has an extensive collection of earth sciences material. In 2007 the library was named in honour of Doc Fisher, the former Chief Geologist and fourth Director of the Bureau of Mineral Resources, Geology and Geophysics.

The library provides services to geoscience organisations, universities, research centres, the mining and petroleum industries and the public.

Opening hours

The Library welcomes visitors and is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The library is closed on weekends and public holidays.

The library is located on the ground floor of the Geoscience Australia building at

Cnr Jerrabomberra Ave and Hindmarsh Drive
