This map is based on publicly available data and shows the location of accredited renewable energy power station sites in Australia. The data have been extracted from an oracle database held by Geoscience Australia on all types of electricity generating power stations.
The data plotted are a subset from the database and are all accredited renewable energy power plants above three kilowatts capacity. The data was last updated on 19 March 2008.
Reasonable efforts have been made to ensure the quality and completeness of the data (Please refer to the metadata sheet). Furthermore, Geoscience Australia welcomes information that can be made available publicly on accredited power stations that are, or are not yet, covered by the database. For this purpose, the following facility is provided for the supply of additional information via the Internet for inclusion in the database.

Repeated clicking will zoom in closer and closer with more topographic detail being displayed. Further help on using the mapping system is available. You can contact us using this mail form.
Generators are invited to e-mail a photograph of their renewable energy electricity generation site to keith.porritt@ga.gov.au. We will accept digital photographs in any format and of any size but would prefer to recieve them in line with the following image specifications.
