This workshop will provide opportunities for team-work that demonstrates how the diverse disciplines of geoscience are used together in the exploration for gold. During the half-day workshop, students will use real data from the goldfields of WA and conduct hands-on laboratory work to assist in their search. The students will also meet and work with some of Geoscience Australia's newest staff members who have been recruited through the organisation's Graduate Recruitment Program. This Program, along with a recently introduced Cadetship Scheme within which several ANU students will be supported through their studies and provided with paid employment, are designed to address the challenges of skills supply in key science areas.
