Data currencyBeginning date: 2001-04-08 Ending date: 2001-04-08 Dataset statusProgress: Complete Maintenance and update frequency: Not Known Access
Access constraints: GIS data is stored in ArcView project and shapefile format and ArcExplorer project and shapefile format. The data is available in ArcView GIS version 3.1 format as well as ArcExplorer version 2 format. Order ProductData qualityLineage: The extent of the 2001 release areas have been decided upon by Australian Federal Government Departments (AGSO and ISR) in conjunction with the relevant State Government Departments. The 2001 release areas were originally digitally captured in MicroStation SE (Copyright Bentley Systems Inc.). The latitudes and longitudes of the area polygons were accurately plotted in a design file with a geographic co-ordinate system, using the WSG84 datum. Well information was obtained from AGSO's PEDIN database and accurately plotted in a design file. Pipeline information was obtained from Government and industry sources and plotted in a design file. The coastline used is the AUSLIG 1:10 million coast of Australia and was in design file format. All data was converted to ArcView Shapefile format via the CAD reader extention in ArcView. Relevant data was added to the shapefile database files. Positional accuracy: Not Known Attribute accuracy: 2001 polygon data: The name attribue contains an individual identifier and is therefore accurate. The area attributes were automatically calculated by ArcView GIS and are therefore accurate to the standards of ArcView. The basin attribute have been assigned by AGSO employees. The name given is to give the user a rough guide as to the location of the release area, and thus the accuracy is marginal for some areas. The 1:1M_sheet attributes are accurately recorded. Where areas straddle 2 two or more sheets the sheet names are separated by a '/'. The grat_blocks attribute field have been accurately filled through manual checking of digital files in MicroStation. There is no differentiation between full and part blocks. The bid_close attribure dates have been assigned by ISR and are considered to be accurate. All well and pipline data is considered to be accurate. The coastline is a generalised coastline and is only intended to be used for a locality guide. Logical Consistency: All data has been visually checked to confirm consistency. Completeness: All data is complete and checked. Contact information
