GSWA Complete South Yilgarn Elevation Merged Grid GeodeticNote: This metadata describes the dataset in accordance with the ANZLIC (Australia New Zealand Land Information Council) Core Metadata Guidelines Version 2. Dataset citationANZLIC unique identifier: ANZCW0703010581 Title: GSWA Complete South Yilgarn Elevation Merged Grid Geodetic CustodianCustodian: Geoscience Australia / OEMD Jurisdiction: Western Australia DescriptionAbstract: GA acts as a portal for all State geophysical datasets with the exception of South Australia. The data is located in the Geophysical Archive Data Delivery System (GADDS) and also mirrored on the externally located GA website. An internal link to the data is: \\Marl\export\jet\3\data (GA specific data is located here and State data is further segregated into folders). OEMD adds new survey datasets to GADDS as they become available. Each State Government requires a different license statement (refer to Licence Details). The height component of these surveys is acquired using radar altimetry. Errors inherent to this process are included in the attached .pdf document http://www.ga.gov.au/about/corporate/ga_authors/dem_errors.jsp#report or http://www.ga.gov.au/image_cache/GA2080.pdf ANZLIC search words:

Access constraints: The data is subject to Copyright. Data files may be downloaded from Geoscience Australia's website (http://www.geoscience.gov.au/bin/mapserv36?map=/public/http/www/geoportal/gadds/gadds.map&mode=browse) or internally on \\Marl\export\jet\3\data. A licence agreement is required. The licence agreement will be a State-based or a GA-based agreement. Errors inherent to this process are included in the attached .pdf document http://www.ga.gov.au/about/corporate/ga_authors/dem_errors.jsp#report or http://www.ga.gov.au/image_cache/GA2080.pdf Positional accuracy: Horizontal: 1-2m, Vertical: 5m (Refer to http://www.ga.gov.au/about/corporate/ga_authors/dem_errors.jsp#report or http://www.ga.gov.au/image_cache/GA2080.pdf) Attribute accuracy: For this particular GADDS elevation product, attribute accuracy is a measure of the degree to which the attribute values of features agree with the desiganted reference material. There is a 99% confidence level in the GA and State elevation datasets. Logical Consistency: Depending on their supply date, a range of spatial and attribute checks were applied to selected supplied dataset to ensure that they contain accurate attribute values. All elevation datsets should be later than 1993 when reliable and continuous GPS became available. Elevation data acquired by (and sourced from) State agencies between 1993 and 2003-4 have unknown QA, reliability and consistency checks. Elevation data acquired by GA (on behalf of State agencies) post 2003-4 have had a number of QA and reliability checks performed in addition to the supply of histogram plots. Checks include data comparison against: *9 Second V2.0 DEM, *Benchmarks, *SRTM DEM and *Spot Heights Benchmarks and Spot Height checks generally have good Z accuracy but may have only moderate X and Y accuracy. Completeness: All instances of a feature and its attribute values that appear on the source material are captured unless otherwise indicated in the selection criteria for that feature.
