OZCHEM National Whole Rock Geochemistry DatabaseNote: This metadata describes the dataset in accordance with the ANZLIC (Australia New Zealand Land Information Council) Core Metadata Guidelines Version 2. Dataset citationANZLIC unique identifier: ANZCW0703011055 Title: OZCHEM National Whole Rock Geochemistry Database CustodianCustodian: Geoscience Australia Jurisdiction: Australia DescriptionAbstract: These data represent whole rock geochemical analyses from the OZCHEM Database. Each analysis includes a geographic location and a geological description, which includes the host stratigraphic unit, where known, and the lithology. Most samples have been collected by Geoscience Australia field parties. These data are a snapshot at the "Ending Date" of the current database entries and are also a subset of the full database managed by GA which includes data from Papua New Guinea, Antarctica, Solomon Islands and New Zealand. Access constraints: Licence required. Free Data DownloadData qualityLineage: These datasets are derived directly from Geoscience Australia's corporate Oracle OZCHEM Whole Rock Geochemistry Database.Only data that has been marked as open file is included. The ASCII extraction of the database is generated as ASCII comma-delimited file of the main tables that are part of or used by the OZCHEM database. Positional accuracy: Nominal Scale 1:100 000 The positional accuracy is usually not better than 100m occasionally up to 10 000m Attribute accuracy: The attribute accuracy is good Logical Consistency: A geoscientist visually inspected the finished dataset to make sure the attributes were accurate and the data were consistent spatially with the quality-controlled database it was derived from. Tests are also carried out on these data for data completeness, correct spatial representation, attribute accuracy, logical consistency and correctness, and where appropriate for compliance with Geoscience Australia's GIS data dictionary. Completeness: The dataset coverage is complete for the whole of continental Australia. Contact information
