Paterson south (Western Areas infill) TEMPEST AEM Survey, WA, 2008 Final Data (P1168)Note: This metadata describes the dataset in accordance with the ANZLIC (Australia New Zealand Land Information Council) Core Metadata Guidelines Version 2. Dataset citationANZLIC unique identifier: ANZCW0703013180 Title: Paterson south (Western Areas infill) TEMPEST AEM Survey, WA, 2008 Final Data (P1168) CustodianCustodian: Geoscience Australia Jurisdiction: Australia DescriptionAbstract: During 2007 and 2008 and under the Australian Government's Onshore Energy Security Initiative, Geoscience Australia acquired airborne electromagnetic (AEM) data over the Paterson Province of Western Australia. At the time, interested exploration companies were offered the opportunity to infill the regional survey. The data in this release were acquired from two infill areas, S2 and S3, for Western Areas NL. The main purpose of the regional survey was to provide additional geophysical/geological context for unconformity and palaeochannel style uranium mineral systems and thereby promote related exploration. The survey data will also provide information on depth to basement, which is of general interest to explorers, and will be used as an input into a ground water evaluation of the region. Details on the acquisition and processing are available in Lawrence and Stenning (2008), which is included in the dataset. References: Lawrence, M., Stenning, L., 2008. Paterson South airborne electromagnetic mapping survey acquisition and processing report. Unpublished Fugro Airborne Surveys report to Geoscience Australia. Positional accuracy: Positioning was via post-processed differential GPS methods. Horizontal positional accuracy of the data is approximately 1 metre (standard deviation). Attribute accuracy: The data have been acquired and processed to a standard of best practice as of the year 2008. More sophisticated processing algorithms may be applied to these data should they become available. Logical Consistency: Not applicable. Completeness: The dataset includes all final data and products created by the survey contractor Fugro Airborne Surveys. Contact information
