Free Data DownloadData qualityLineage: The data were created in ArcGIS Desktop using the following procedure. 1. Converted the coast 250k polygon feature class into a line feature class; 2. Selected Australian mainland coast lines, Tasmania, and several major offshore islands: Bathurst Island, Melville Island, Croker Island, Groote Island, Mornington Island, Fraser Island, Moreton Island, North Stradbroke Island, Flinders Island, Cape Barren Island, King Island, Kangaroo Island, Dirk Hartog Island, and Barrow Island; 3. Simplified the selected features using a 30 km tolerance; 4. Calculated Euclidean distance from selected features to obtain the ArcInfo grid. Positional accuracy: Given that the Australian coastline has been simplified using a 30 km tolerance, the positional accuracy is about 30 km. Attribute accuracy: Not applicable, as there is not any attribute associated with the raster data.
