Petrel Sub-basin Marine Survey (GA-0335 / SOL5463) (NLECI Program) - Processed sub bottom profiler dataNote: This metadata describes the dataset in accordance with the ANZLIC (Australia New Zealand Land Information Council) Core Metadata Guidelines Version 2. Dataset citationANZLIC unique identifier: ANZCW0703016778 Title: Petrel Sub-basin Marine Survey (GA-0335 / SOL5463) (NLECI Program) - Processed sub bottom profiler data CustodianCustodian: Geoscience Australia Jurisdiction: Australia DescriptionAbstract: The survey was undertaken as a collaboration between Geoscience Australia and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS). The purpose was to acquire geophysical and biophysical data on shallow (less than 100 m water depth) seabed environments within two targeted areas in the Petrel Sub-basin to support investigation for CO2 storage potential in these areas. Sub bottom profiler data were acquired using a sparker source and a 24 channel streamer, and processed as shallow, high resolution, multi-channel seismic reflection data. ANZLIC search words:

However this is the accuracy of the position of the GPS antenna. The movement of the sparker source and the Geoeel streamer in the ocean swell would limit the accuracy of the CDP position of the processed data to approximately 1 m. Attribute accuracy: Each shot record was visually examined for quality. The results of each processing step were visually inspected. The final seismic sections have a vertical resolution of better than 1 m. Logical Consistency: Best practice seismic processing techniques were used to improve signal to noise. The same processing stream was used for each of the 51 sub bottom profiler lines, ensured by scripting processing jobs from the same templates. Completeness: All of the sub bottom profiler data acquired during this survey were processed and output as SEG-Y files, with the exception of bad data at the start and end of lines where the vessel was turning on or off the line.
