Virtual centre for geofluids and thermodynamic data

What is the virtual centre for geofluids and thermodynamic data?

This virtual centre consists of:

Why a virtual centre?

The virtual centre has been established by the Predictive Mineral Discovery Cooperative Research Centre (pmd*CRC) so that data relevant to geofluids may be stored in and accessed from a single point. It aims to provide an up-to-date reference centre for thermodynamic data and geofluids from various geological settings.

How does it work?

Chemical and thermodynamic data are stored in Geoscience Australia's databases and accessed by a series of forms. These forms are used to update and maintain data and to facilitate data retrieval.

To acquire a login and instructions on how to use the system, please go to the login page. Thermodynamic data reports of all data available to the public, which do not require a login, can be accessed from the FreeGs thermodynamic calculator.

Who can use the virtual centre?

Anybody who carries out thermodynamic modelling or research on fluid inclusions is welcome to use the Virtual Centre to store and/or retrieve data. If required, data may be kept confidential by arrangement with Geoscience Australia.

To acquire a login and instructions on how to use the system please go to the login page. Thermodynamic data reports of all data available to the public, which do not require a login, can be accessed from the FreeGs thermodynamic calculator.
