1. New Maps of Proterozoic Uranium Mineralising Events

Geoscience Australia has released two new 1:5 000 000 scale maps: Australian Proterozoic Mineralising Events: Uranium (Map 1) and Australian Proterozoic Mineralising Events: Uranium (Map 2).

Six major Proterozoic uranium mineralising events are identified on the maps which show: the mineralising event (based on determined or inferred age) for each deposit; the style of the deposit; and uranium occurrences within Proterozoic regions. The maps also include enlarged insets of mineralised areas, time-space-event charts, and pie-charts summarising uranium resources by Proterozoic mineralising events. The mineralising events on Map 1 are superimposed on Australian Uranium Resources base map (regions classified according to their uranium endowment), and on Map 2 they are plotted on Australian Proterozoic Georegions base map.

2. New Gravity Survey Data

Gravity data from a survey over the northern half of the Blackstone 1:100 000 sheet area in the Musgrave Region of Western Australia have recently been incorporated into the Australian National Gravity Database.

A total of 309 stations from a 2006 collaborative gravity survey between the University of Adelaide and the Geological Survey of Western Australia were recently entered into the Australian National Gravity Database. These data were provided to Geoscience Australia by the Geological Survey of Western Australia.

All data in the Australian National Gravity Database, can be obtained free-of-charge using the Geophysical Archive Data Delivery System "GADDS".

3. New web pages for Uranium Systems Project

Information on Geoscience Australia's Uranium Systems Project is now available online. The project commenced in July 2007 and is one of several national projects within the Onshore Energy Security Program.
