Compilation of SHRIMP U-Pb geochronological data, Yilgarn Craton, Western Australia, 2004-2006
Summary
This record contains zircon U-Pb geochronological data on rocks from the Yilgarn Craton, Western Australia which was obtained between February 2004 and October 2006.
The data were collected as part of Geoscience Australia’s Western Australia Southwest Gneiss Terrane Pilot Project and the Predictive Mineral Discovery Co-operative Research Centre’s Y2 and Y4 Projects. The results are helping to meet the objective to provide an improved geological and metallogenic framework in the Yilgarn Craton. The results are aimed at providing geochronological constraints on geodynamic and tectonic models for the region.
The record describes the analysed samples and data obtained from them and provides brief discussion of their geochronological interpretation. The complete data files will be stored in the Geoscience Australia geochronology database, OZCHRON.
