Earth Science Week
Earth Science Week 2017 is just around the corner. Join the celebrations from October 8-14, 2017 and celebrate the theme "Earth and Human Activity." This year's event, the 20th annual Earth Science Week celebration, promotes awareness of what geoscience tells us about human interaction with the planet's natural systems and processes.

Adults - Have you ever wondered what happens in our Education Centre?
The education team invite adults (only) to find out during Earth Science Week.
You will be greeted in the building foyer where hundreds of items from the National Mineral Collection are on display. Once within the Education Centre some of the activities and concepts commonly taught to school students will be explained. We will consider earthquakes in Australia, tectonic plates and their movement, rocks, minerals and fossils plus sediments under the microscope and recording a human 'earthquake'. You will be able to explore the hands-on activities in the room and view 3D geological information and maps.
