1. Geoscience Australia at Diggers & Dealers and Mining 2017

Geoscience Australia will have booths at the Diggers & Dealers Forum (7-9  August, Kalgoorlie) and Mining  2017 (29-30 August, Brisbane). Come and see the latest on our precompetitive and minerals promotions programs (including Exploring for the Future), and tell us your progress so we can ensure our national databases are up-to-date.

2. Airborne gravity

Geoscience Australia led a workshop at the 2016 ASEG conference that included a number of key international experts to progress the science of airborne gravity. Video recordings of the workshop are now available on the Geoscience Australia website. Airborne gravity and airborne gravity gradiometry are very new geophysical mapping techniques, which makes this resource a much-needed education resource for industry and government partners. Geoscience Australia and the Geological Survey of Western Australia are currently flying very large regional airborne gravity surveys in Australia.

3. National Mineral Exploration Strategy

The National Mineral Exploration Strategy has  been revised and recently re-endorsed by the COAG Resources Ministers at last month's Energy Council meeting. The goals of the Strategy are to drive ongoing investment in mineral exploration, generate new exploration opportunities, stimulate major new discoveries, and ensure the continuity and longevity of Australia's mineral resources industry for the benefit of all Australians. A copy of the Strategy can be downloaded from COAG Energy Council.
