Updated: 12 March 2004 Posters & Satellite Image MapsSatellite Image of Australia - Landsat 7 MosaicThis mosaic was created by the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) as part of their national carbon accounting project. It comprises 369 scenes acquired between July 1999 and September 2000 from the Landsat 7 satellite. It is presented at 1:5 Million scale in psuedo-natural colours on high quality paper with a gloss finish. It measures approximately 93cm x 84cm. Elevation Image of Australia (1:5 million and 1: 25 Million scales)This map is an attractive representation of the relief of Australia with north-west illumination. The elevation image was derived from Geoscience Australia's GEODATA 9 Second Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with a grid spacing of 9 seconds of latitude and longitude (approximately 250 metres on the ground). Over 5 million spot height values were used in the generation of the DEM. Canberra, A View From Space Satellite Image 1:50 000 scaleA satellite image poster that gives a view of the city of Canberra and the surrounding countryside. Derived by merging datasets from the Landsat Thematic Mapper and SPOT satellites which periodically pass over Australia, the poster provides a wealth of information as well as a pleasing visual image. Satellite Image of Australia - RADARSAT MosaicThis mosaic comprises 165 scenes that were acquired between November 2000 and February 2001 from the RADARSAT satellite. This satellite carries a radar instrument that sends pulsed signals to Earth and processes the reflected pulses. The information received by the satellite is converted into a black and white image that shows the texture of the Earth"s surface in a different way to a normal "photograph". The poster is about 91cm x 80cm and is at 1:5,500,00 scale. Please note that this poster is not nomally held in stock and must be freighted from Canada for each order. |
