This is the first version of the FAQ.
- WHAT'S NEW IN GEODATA RASTER 250K?
2.1 List of new features in GEODATA Raster 250K
- Available on Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT4.
- New user interface, GEODATA Raster 250K runs from an Internet Explorer
version 5 platform.
- New features available; such as:
- The map viewer can load maps that contains a specific location,
given as its latitude and longitude.
- Panning from map to map.
- Finding the latitude and longitude coordinates of a point on the map.
- Printing the entire map or the current view.
- Exporting the entire map or current view; JPEG, BMP, PNG,TIFF and
GeoTIFF image formats are supported.
- Online help file that can be read on screen or printed as needed.
2.2 Is there Copyright on the Maps from GEODATA Raster 250K?
National Mapping retains and administers Commonwealth Copyright for all data and images used in GEODATA Raster
250K in accordance with the Copyright Act 1968. The use of any
maps or images from this product, with or without modification, is permitted
for personal or private use only.
Where any mapping material is to be used for personal research, assignments for
educational purposes, or for internal company reports, provided the words
"Copyright National mapping" appear with all uses, no application to National Mapping to use the
material is required.
A copyright licence must first be obtained from National Mapping for the use of any maps or
images derived from GEODATA Raster 250K in any books, reports, advertising brochures
or any other medium for public consumption or for commercial purposes.

2.3 What can MacIntosh Users do?
Mac users have limited options; the only way to use GEODATA Raster 250K on a Mac
is by running under a Windows emulation program such as Virtual PC.
- INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION
3.1 How do I install GEODATA Raster 250K?
Insert the CD-ROM labelled AUSLIG GEODATA Raster 250K CD1
into your CD drive. Then browse to the top directory of the CD and double click
on the file Setup.exe. Follow the on-screen directions.
3.2 How do I update the FAQ?
The FAQ will be maintained on National Mapping's GEODATA Raster 250K web site.
- USING GEODATA RASTER 250K
4.1 Where is the Help Guide for GEODATA Raster 250K?
On CD1 help.html can be found. The help guide can be accessed through the RASTER VIEWER.
4.2 An error message appears requiring a screen resolution of at least 800 x 600.
When running a display at 800 x 600 pixels, the user should ensure that any task bars
have their autohide property setting turned on. For the Windows task bar, this is
donefromStart>Settings>Taskbar, then ensuring that the Autohide check box is ticked.

5.1 How do I report a bug in GEODATA Raster 250K?
Bug reports should be submitted to National Mapping at one of the addresses listed at the start
of this FAQ.
Please ensure that you record as much detail as you can about the fault as
non-specific faults are difficult to replicate. If you are reporting an error
related to the content of GEODATA Raster 250K, please state the map sheet name, number and latitude, longitude
coordinates and what the error is.
If you are reporting an error or crash in the software, please include
the details of your operating system, computer specifications (Type and speed of CPU,
Amount of RAM, Capacity of hard disk), and what you were doing when you encountered
the bug, including other software you had running.
