The regular release of offshore acreage is a key part of the Australian Government's strategy to encourage investment in petroleum exploration. These six 3D models display the acreage areas, surrounding features and infrastructure in their true three dimensional location.

These 3D (three dimensional) models were generated by Geoscience Australia's research projects to help scientists better understand and interpret their data. They provide a useful interactive tool to communicate often complex geological relationships to other scientists and the wider community.
Users can turn data layers on and off and manipulate the models by rotating, zooming and panning to explore relationships between parts of the model from any aspect.
Links within the following list of data sources access the full metadata record or link to a downloadable version of the data from the Geoscience Australia website.
A CD-ROM version of the models is also available through the Sales Centre.
