The above X Y translations have been applied to enhance graphics performance within each model by moving the origin to the centre.
Z values within the models are represented in scaled two way time (TWT) in seconds. Bathymetry was originally sourced in metres and multiplied by 0.000009 to match the xy coordinates in decimal degrees. The above Z scale factor was applied to make the cross sections and terrain visible within the scaled area of the models. Bathymetry in metres was converted to TWT through dividing depths by 750 (as the speed of sound in water is 1500m/s).
Note: Because of the scaling applied in the Z direction, the depth of the model cross sections below the bathymetry is not to scale and does not relate to the depth of the surrounding bathymetric features.
