This project supports acreage release by providing a scientific overview and update of Australia's principle petroleum producing regions, investigating the potential for extending known petroleum system plays within producing areas.

Project outcome

An improved geological understanding of Australia's offshore proven petroleum provinces to underpin the annual release of offshore petroleum exploration areas.

Project outputs

Compilation and provision of pre-competitive information on the petroleum systems and prospectivity of Australia's offshore producing regions.
