What is Space Geodesy?

Space Geodesy comprises of observational and computational techniques that allow the solution of geodetic problems by the use of precise measurement to artificial satellites. The major geodetic problems include the computation of:

• precise positions
• the Earth's Pole position
• the Earth's gravity field, and
• tectonic motion.
