Bidding is now open for the 2020 Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release. The 2020 acreage release comprises 42 areas in Commonwealth waters offshore of Western Australia, Victoria, the Ashmore and Cartier Islands and the Northern Territory, across five basins:
- Bonaparte Basin – 12 areas
- Browse Basin – 8 areas
- Gippsland Basin – 2 areas
- Northern Carnarvon Basin – 19 areas
- Otway Basin – 1 area
All areas will be available for a single round of work program bidding. Bidding closes 1 June 2021.
