Feature Type Cross Reference Tables Description

Feature Type Cross Reference

The feature type cross reference relates commonly used terms to feature types in the data. The list is sorted alphabetically by the commonly used terms. While the list is not exhaustive it is designed to help assigning entities to the appropriate feature type. Once the appropriate feature type has been determined the feature type dictionary should be consulted for the conditions of use of the feature. Where a commonly used term relates to more than one feature the dictionary entries for both features should be consulted to determine the appropriate feature type for that particular entity.

Included Terms Cross Reference

The included terms cross reference relates the feature types to commonly used terms. This list is sorted alphabetically by feature type and should be used to determine the range of features that fall within a feature type. Again the list is not exhaustive and the feature type dictionary should be consulted for the conditions of use of the feature type.
