Projects in Australia

As of March 2026, there are 19 carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in various stages of development across Australia, including two operational commercial-scale projects, Gorgon CCS and Moomba CCS.

Offshore Greenhouse Gas Storage Acreage Release

There are currently 17 active offshore greenhouse gas storage assessment permits across Australia.
