1. Opportunities to meet Geoscience Australia
Geoscience Australia will have exhibition booths in these four upcoming conferences and meetings:
- Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum, 7-9 August, Kalgoorlie
- Mining 2017, 29-30 August, Brisbane,
- China Mining Congress & Expo, 23-25 September, Tianjin, China
- IME 2017, 8-11 November, Kolkata India
The international events will be under the Australia Minerals banner where there will also be representatives from state and Northern Territory geological surveys.
This is an opportunity for you to speak with our representatives to get the latest on our minerals systems work including the Exploring for the Future Programme.

2. Latest Investor Guide released
At the recent AMEC Convention, Senator the Hon Matt Canavan, Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, launched the latest version of Minerals and Petroleum in Australia - a Guide for Investors 2017 Edition. This replaces the 2015 edition and provides updates across the board on status of mineral and petroleum exploration and value in Australia, controls on mining in Australia (regulation, policy and legislation), infrastructure and services, taxation and duties, government support, and indigenous engagement.
This guide can be downloaded from the Australia Minerals website.
A Chinese translation of the guide is being prepared for the China Mining Congress & Expo.

3. Update on geophysical data release
Geoscience Australia is managing the geophysical data acquisition programs in Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory on behalf of the state/territory geological surveys
The current status of Geoscience Australia's geophysical survey data acquisition is available in a comprehensive table.
