The survey is located in an area between the 2007 Tanumbirini and 2001 Sturt airborne geophysical surveys. The survey collected approximately 103 900 line km of new data on east-west flight lines spaced 400 metres apart and flown at a nominal 80 metres above ground level. The survey covers parts of the Katherine, Larrimah, Hodgson Downs, Daly Waters, Tanumbirini and Newcastle Waters standard 1:250000 Map Sheets.

The survey commenced on 28 June 2014 and completed flying on 10 October. Preliminary final magnetic (grid and vector), radiometric (grid) and elevation (grid and vector) data have been received by GA and are nearly finished QA/QC assessment.

The Geological Survey of Victoria  designed a survey of approximately 1440 stations at a nominal 400 metre station spacing on 12 separate traverses on the Warragul standard 1:250000 Map Sheet. The traverses cover an area of approximately 8358 km2.

The survey commenced on 30 June 2014 and completed data acquisition on 21 July. The processed data passed assessment by GA on 19 September. The final Operations Report was delivered to GA for assessment on 11 October.

The data are in preparation for release via GADDS when GSV advises GA of their preferred release date.

Processed  inversion models of the pre-competitive airborne electromagnetic (AEM) data for  the greenfields Southern Thomson region (border of NSW/Qld) were publically  released on 24 December.  These datasets  have been processed on the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI)  supercomputer and include, for the first time, a sophisticated Monte Carlo  analysis of data uncertainty for mapping cover thickness and basement  conductors.  The inversion data are  accessible via the link http://www.ga.gov.au/metadata-gateway/metadata/record/gcat_82564

Updated National Geophysical digital datasets of  the Magnetic Anomaly and Radiometric Maps of Australia were released via GADDS  on 28 January.  This release contains the  6th edition of the magnetic grid and the 3rd edition of  the radiometric grids of Australia.  In  recent years significant areas of Australia have been flown with airborne  radiometric surveys resulting in significant portions of the continent being  covered with radiometric data.

Geoscience Australia will be managing the data acquisition program in Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.
